The composition of a pure compound differs from a mixture because a pure compound has a fixed composition and a mixture has multiple chemicals in it. 7a. Define property. Property is a characteristic that can be observed. 7b. How are properties useful in classifying materials? Properties are useful in classifying materials because properties will show you different things about materials. 8. What is the difference between extensive properties and intensive properties?
