Business Profile PRADA spa is a world leader in the luxury goods sector where it operates with the Prada, Miu Miu, Church’s and Car Shoe brands in the design, production and distribution of luxury handbags, leather goods, footwear, apparel and accessories. The Group operates 594 stores and its products are sold in 70 countries worldwide. It is a joint-stock company, which is registered and domiciled in Italy. As of January 31, 2015, 79.98% of the share capital was owned by PRADA Holding spa, while the remaining shares were floating on the Main Board of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange ( Prada Group, 2015). Prada Prada was founded in 1913 by Mario Prada in Milan, Italy. The Milan store sold highquality luggage, accessories and other luxury goods and quickly became a favorite with the Italian aristocracy. In the late 70’s Miuccia Prada, Mario Prada's granddaughter, and Patrizio Bertelli started working together. Patrizio Bertelli introduced a new business model and together they began laying the groundwork for international expansion. Prada now produces men's and women's leather goods, clothing, footwear, eyewear and fragrances. Miu Miu This brand is named after Miuccia Prada herself, as Miu Miu was her nickname in her younger years. it was created in 1993 as a brand with a different identity from Prada and has since become one of the leading fashion brands in the world. Church's The Church’s brand was founded in 1873 in Northampton, England, by Thomas Church and his three sons, a family with a history of producing handmade men’s shoes since 1675. At the start of the 1900’s, Church’s began exporting to the United States, Canada and South America and continues to be a leader in the men’s handmade luxury footwear industry today. Car Shoe Car Shoe was founded in 1963 by Gianni Mostile. His passion for racing cars inspired him to design soft leather moccasins with little rubber studs on the soles to improve grip on car pedals. The brand is still an iconic Italian classic, known for its technical-design originality (Prada Group, 2014). 3

Fiscal Year End Prada spa’s fiscal year-end date is January 31st, as the Christmas and New Year holiday is the most profitable for the luxury goods sector. The 2014 fiscal year ended with consolidated net revenues of € 3,551.7 million, down 1% compared to € 3,587.3 million in 2013. This was partly due to sales being negatively impacted by the exchange rates between various currencies and the Euro for a considerable part of the year.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
