CSCI235 Database Laboratory 2.0 Objective: To write SQL DDL statements To create database objects: User Role View. To grant authorization on database objects: Role View To revoke authorization on database objects: Role View Experiment 2b.0 Understanding the Data Definition Languages Preparations Turn the system on (if it is off) and logon as Win 2K user. Comments: This specification uses the phrases leftclick something and rightclick something. The meaning of leftclick something is to click at something with the left button of your mouse , e.g., leftclick OK button. Then, as we may expect, rightclick something means click at something with the right button of your mouse. Win2K systems provide the access to Oracle database server (ver. 9.2.0). The students are allowed to logon to the server as long as they have the appropriate privileges (User name and password) to do so. You should have obtained your user name and password at the moment. If you are not, then please ask your laboratory tutor about that. Your Oracle account obtained the additional database administrator privileges that will allow you to perform more advanced tasks than ordinary users are allowed to do. Please use these privileges wisely! /var/filecabinet/temp/converter_assets/1b/69/1b69852164e92d89ad0b3c11ff3a0f84ab72c3d6.doc Page: 1

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
