Unformatted text preview: Kayla Peterson English 101-55 Evaluation Brand New Creates a Brand New Sound The musically enticing quartet from Long Island, New York, brings a profound sound to the music industry. In their third album, “The Devil and God are Raging Inside Me,” the band creates a phonetic story throughout the 13 tracks. As someone who enjoys music of almost all genres, I am beyond impressed with the creative composition Brand New presents to their listeners. Their delicious lyrics accompanied by a mix of passionate vocals and an agonizing chorus cannot be compared to mindless mainstream that consumes the radio waves. These Long Islanders are not to be observed lightly. First off, Band New’s lyrics alone are unlike any others. To label the band members as “writers” is a gross understatement, these gentlemen are clearly poets. The first time I heard a song of theirs, I was reeled in by the experimental avant-garde melodies that filled my ears.
