In the 19thcentury, marijuana extract dissolved in alcohol was a popular home remedy. Marijuana for medicinal purposes has made a comeback, thanks largely for patient advocacy groups and activists for the legalization of marijuana for all purposes. Cancer patients and their families were the first to push for it, claiming it relieves the nausea from chemotherapy. Then AIDS advocacy group swung into action arguing that it’s the best way to treat weight loss, muscle wasting and loss of appetite.Over thirty States have passed the bill to legalize the use of medical marijuana.
