Rector 2Glimmerville City CouncilTo Whom It May Concern:The Grass Carp that have been brought in to clear up the vegetation problem in the Reservoir have begun to unbalance the reservoirs ecosystem and this has resulted in a decrease inthe local economy’s tourism. The Grass Carp have become overpopulated due to the lack of predation and the abundant food source. This overpopulation is causing the native fish population to decrease. The reduction of the native fish population has led to a decrease in tourism (sport and tourist fishing and industry (tourism and fishing related jobs). We were able tosolve the Grass Carp overpopulation problem (and resulting problems) by using an alternate fertilizer in our agricultural pursuits we thereby changed the nutrient runoff in the reservoir. This reduced vegetation growth, decreased the Grass Carp population, increased industry and tourism.
