Article # 15 “The Myth of Sustainable Meat” Notes It is said that the industrial production of animal products is a nasty business and a broken food system. Farmers are now being told to get prescriptions for sick animals instead of regularly feeding them antibiotics. Most people have turned away from industrial farming and look for nonindustrial sources instead for their meats and dairy. These smaller farms are not exactly more sustainable than industry farming though. Grass fed cows emits more methane than grain-fed cows. If all cows were raised grass fed it would require half of the country to house them.
