M326K Homework #2: due Friday, 2/1 Objective : To reinforce and practice applying some of the concepts and terminology in the class activity “A Finite Number System”. Note : If you have not finished Problems 1-7 of Class Activities Handout 1, finish them out- side of class, either by yourself or with others. (A sample write-up of some of these problems is posted on Blackboard under “Course Documents”.) Read “Tips for Writing Up Home- work” at the end of your syllabus. You can find this on Blackboard under “Assignments (About the Homework)” as well. To Hand In : Sara and Jon made up a “number system”. The objects in this system are α,β,γ,δ and the operation (which they decided to call “addition”) is +.
