M326K Homework #3: due Friday, 2/8 Objectives: To reinforce and practice applying some of the concepts and terminology in the class activity A Finite Number System . To deepen your understanding of number systems by examining if some concepts from the usual number systems carry over to the finite system. Note : If you did not finish problems 1–14 in A Finite Number System in class, finish them outside of class, either by yourself or with others. To Hand In (Make sure you support all of your answers!) : 1. Answer the following regarding the finite number system. a. We say that a number is a multiple of 3 if it can be written as 3 times a number. List all the numbers that are multiples of 3 in the finite number system. b. We say that a number is a multiple of 5 if it can be written as 5 times a number. List all the numbers that are multiples of 5 in the finite number system. 2.
