THE WEDDING2Week Two Assignment: Case Study: The WeddingIn the case study the wedding a couple Tony and Peggy Sue who both graduated from a Dallas University about a year ago, they are both employed in jobs which they have gotten their degrees in. Tony who graduated from culinary school is employed as a chef in the hotel restaurant at a resort, Peggy Sue who graduated with a degree in elementary education is employed as a teacher. On Christmas, Tony proposes to Peggy Sue, and she accepts, they decide on June 30thas the day of the wedding. When they each call their mothers to share their wonderful news, each of their mothers tells them what they are going to plan for the wedding, not asking what Tony or Peggy Sue what they want for their wedding. Both mothers tell Tony and Peggy Sue what they will be doing for their wedding, the reception and Tony’s mother even decided where they will be going on their honeymoon[Gid12].Tony and Peggy Sue are going to have a big wedding with family and close friends, alongwith many of their friends from college. A large guest list can become expensive, with the cost offood and drinks for the reception, they decide on a buffet-style reception, since Tony is a chef at the hotel in a resort, his employer offers to help get Tony and Peggy Sue a discount on the food for the reception, and the use of the kitchen to prepare the food along with the help of co-workerswho volunteer along with employees from his parent’s restaurant. Also since Tony works at a hotel at a resort, they will have the ceremony and the reception at the resort which will be a perfect location to have both the ceremony and the reception outdoors and his employer offers to provide the dinnerware, and everything for the buffet for a minimal rental fee[Gid12].They decide instead of hiring a DJ or a band for the wedding, Tony and Peggy Sue are going to use a laptop to create playlists of music for the reception, and Tony’s employer offers to let them use one of the sound systems from the resort to provide the entertainment for the
THE WEDDING3reception at a minimal fee as well. They also are able to use outdoor tents and a portable dance floor from Tony’s employer for a small rental fee. Tony and Peggy Sue will have the help of family and friends to set everything up.Tony and Peggy Sue ask the pastor from their church they attend to perform the ceremony, so they do not hurt the feelings of their mothers. They get a loan to pay for the wedding and are planning plan to pay the loan back with the monetary presents they receive fromthe wedding guests[Gid12].
