Why they are important?The first most important fact is since the Opium War, Chinese society has becomeunstable. The Western powers, led by Britain, constantly made excuses and launchedSecond Opium Wars, which have seriously damaged the survival and development ofthe Chinese people. The second one is the semi colonization began and grewweighted, after several China sovereignty began to be destroyed, and through a seriesof unequal treaties powers, to the destruction of Chinese territory, territorial waters,justice, commercial sovereignty, national crisis deepened. The last one is China'seconomy is changing. National economic development is difficult. The great powersopened the gates of China, dumped goods on China by unfair treaties, plunderedChinese raw materials, and made the national economic development difficult afterthe Opium Wars.
