DB 310 Discussion board reply sample I must admit, I didn’t know the term groupthink before taking reading the chapter and honestly my first idea of what this term actually means turned out to be completely different from what it actually is. At first this term groupthink may look a word which describes teamwork, or creating and striving for the same ideas as a group. While the textbook describes this term as: “striving for unanimity override their motivation to realistically appraise alternative courses of action” (Satterlee, 154,) its identifier Irvin Janis words it this way: “an excessive form of concurrence-seeking among members of high prestige, tightly knit policy- making groups.” On one side it is great when team works together and teamwork is highly encouraged with most of the companies.
