Did You Know?
Health Matters What is health?
Health vs. Wellness Wellness is an active process through which people become aware of, and make choices toward, a more successful existence. Your general direction on the continuum matters more than your specific point on it at any given time. Dimensions of Health Physical health: how well your body functions, and how well you take care of it. Intellectual health: a willingness to take on new intellectual challenges, openness to new ideas and skills, a capacity to think critically, and a sense of humor and curiosity. Psychological health: autonomy, self-acceptance, and the ability to maintain nurturing relationships and to pursue meaningful goals. Spiritual health: influenced by your beliefs and values and the way in which you express them. Social health: the quality of interactions and relationships with others. Environmental health: the quality of home, work, school, and social environments—as well as the health of our planet. Occupational health: the quality of your relationship to your work.
