Edthp 115, September 5, 2007 Response Paper After reading the article “Putting Money Where it Matters”, I began to think that it is so difficult to adequately finance schools because most of the U.S citizens do not even know where their tax money is going towards. It is extremely important to have the support of citizens, administrators and teachers to make sure they are getting the most out of their money. Otherwise important decision which could have possibly benefited the education of the students will go unchanged. The article provided information that supported the fact that finance in the U.S education system has not changed much in the past three decades. I believe our real problem is that we need to make a plan and follow through with it. Education Systems across the country have ideas but allow new ones to take its place with not even a debate. We need to understand what is most important in our education system, which is literacy. Building a foundation for students is what our citizens, students, teachers and
