Lab Course 103A -Section 006 Physics Laboratory ReportLab number and Title:Lab H: Electrical Equivalent of HeatName: Carlos SkerrettGroup members: Nicholas Ramirez,Gerome Garses, Shail Sheth,Conor Mccan,Erin HeidlebergerExperiment Date : 3-31-17Instructor’s name: Sizhan Liu1. OBJECTIVES1. To determine electrical equivalent of heat, the conversion factor between the electrical energy unit, joule, and the heat energy unit, calorie.2. To come to a deeper understanding of Conservation of Energy. 2. THEORETICAL BACKGROUNDAccording to the law of conservation energy, the total amount of energy in an isolated system remains constant over time. On the other hand, energy cannot be created or destroyed, but can be transmitted from one form to another. For example, electrical energy can be transformed to heat energy.3. PROCEDURE1.Measure the mass of the empty inner cup of the calorimeter.2.Fill the inner cu with approximately 250 ml cold water (about 6-10 below room temperature).
