Mary Massengill Chapter 6 HRM 1. Review the criteria for a successful selection method: reliable, valid, generalizable, practical, and legal. Evaluate how Gild’s algorithm addresses or should address these criteria. Reliable portion of the selection method describes how close a measurement is to the actual measurement. Valid portion of the selection method describes the information gathered from the test in relation to what is being tested and if that information gathered from the test is actually the information being tested. Generalizable portion of the selection method describes the ability to test in one area validly and use that same test in another area validly. Practical portion of the selection method describes whether or not the methods combined actually give information relevant to the company. Legal portion of the selection method describes how the company follows the law in using any of the selection methods.
