Running Head: ELearning Windows Server Infrastructure Redesign and Upgrade Executive Overview The overall objective of this proposal is to provide a viable solution for the general upgrade and redesign of ELearning's windows server infrastructure with the aim of increasing overall efficiency and productivity while leaving room for future expansion. At the moment, ELearning has four operational branches which are scattered all over Europe and North America. Within the last few years, the organization has undergone a mixture of growth and disasters. As a result, ELearning is planning to set up a new branch in Austin, Texas which will host more than 130 new employees. Although the Austin branch is partly operational at the moment, it doesn't have any domain controller, and there is need to authenticate and access the company's Active Directory Services. To meet the emerging needs and demands, the organization has decided to upgrade it's outdated and legacy systems and configuration for its Network environment to Windows Server 2012. Although several measures have already been undertaken towards improving the overall efficiency and security of the networking infrastructure and environment, a lot of changes still need to be effected for the organization to start running at its full potential while providing room for future expansion and redesign. From the look of things, almost every system that is currently deployed in ELearning is outdated and needs an immediate upgrade or replacement. Therefore, this paper aims to provide an effective and efficient replacement and upgrading strategy to help the organization migrate its current systems to a more secure and cost- effective Windows Server 2012 R2 environment. At the end of the project, the entire ELearning network environment will be running on the more efficient and secure Windows server 2012 R2. The suggested method in this proposal will oversee the overall deployment more functionally while keeping scalability of the network in mind. Windows Deployment Design and Plan The best approach to Windows Deployment is the creation of an image from a master computer or reference computer. The main components of the image will be all the necessary drivers, windows configurations, the operating system, any additional software, and the efficient configuration of all additional software on the same image. One of the most critical features of the Windows Server 2012 R2 that will allow the network administrator to deploy Windows over the existing network successfully is the Windows Deployment Services (WDS).
