The Police Athletic League Center offers after-school programs which are centered on offering structured activities to participants. These activities aimto improve children’s cognitive skills, motor and also stimulate their sensory. In addition, the center initiates citywide activities aimed at bringing all Police Athletic League centers together with the motive of celebrating cultures from across the globe (New South Bronx Center, 2017). Itis worth noting that most activities are defined on the educational component of the South Bronx Police Athletic League Center and thus enabling learners to engage in supervised homework withassistance from social workers within the premises. Generally, the academic support is available. Apart from the recreational component of the South Bronx Police Athletic League Center, there also exist recreational component which focuses on coordination of recreational and athletic activities. These activities involve an individual, teams and also citywide tournaments. The successfulness of these activities is due to the presence of technical assistance, coaching, guidance as well as support from the Police Athletic League staff.In addition, New South Bronx Police Athletic League Center offers summer camp to participants. PAL is built on cultural arts component, and thus the presence of trained staff in the center encourages individual expression, assessment, and participation in activities. Participants usually interact with the staff and thus improving their interactions and positive relationships. Since the appropriate mode of communication is cultivated, it is easier for the staff to understand the behaviors of participants.
