System Description Describe your application – this can / should be a copy from the Requirements Document Taylor’s Professional Services (TPS), a technical and engineering staffing firm, wants a customized web site to help their clients complete a staffing request over the internet. The web site will allow their customers to securely access the site and retrieve a list of potential candidates based on experience, education, salary, and location. The web site will be partitioned in two areas. One area will allow the clients to search for potential employees based on the referenced criteria, while the other area will be available for TPS staff members to update their resumes and profile pictures through the web site. This online application will be designed with a user-friendly interface that will allow log in based on credentials, which will determine what the log in has access to. In this manner, depending on the access level, the log in will be able either to retrieve information, to insert new information, to delete information, or to edit information. Additionally, this web site is intended to have secured access and be easy to use. It will function primarily as an application installed on server hardware
with a front-end web site to access the back-end database. The front-end layout will include a log in screen for clients to access the client area; staff to access the staff area; and the contract manager to have full overall access to the entire site. The back-end database will store the data that will be eventually retrieved, allowing the client to view up to three potential staff members before she submits the request. This will generate an automated response indicating that the request will be validated by the contract manager within 24 hours of receipt. Finally, once the request has been processed, the client will be able to into the site with her credentials and search for her staff request by number. The staff request query will result in a page that will display whether the staff request is valid, invalid, unable to fill, or filled. Therefore, in relation to the operations previously described, the application should allow the functionalities as described in the following figure: Taylor’s Professional Services (TPS) Web Site Area Access Functionality Staff Restricted to Staff Only Staff member to enter, upload, and update their personal information, resume, availability, and picture.
