MORAL PURPOSE AND CULTURAL SIGNIFICANCE IN FABLE, FAIRY TALES, MYTHS, AND LEGENDS.2Fables, fairy tales, myths, and legends create a fantasy world with hidden morals or life lessons with in the stories. Some would say that they started these types of stories for young readers. The wanted to draw them in to read, tempt them to read. Wanted reading to be fun and awaken a sense of wonderment with the reader. These stories may contain morals, life lessons, education about society, and a sense of reality to them. They are wanted to teach the reader in another way, give them a different perspective. Creating other worlds and characters who may berelatable to the reader. We all love to be taken to another place or time, feel like we are in a fantasy world taken away from the stress we may encounter today. One of my favorite fables is “The Tortoise and the Hare.” You have this story about a over confident rabbit, who is almost like a bully to the Tortoise. The hare and rabbit end up having race, but the overconfident rabbit takes a nap during the race. By the time he wakes the
