Analysis of topics in biotechnology in agricultural production and food processing, intellectual and physical property rights in a market based economy, human nutrition problems, the treatment of animals and the environment, worker rights in a global food and apparel marketplace, and American’s role in reducing world hunger and malnutrition. 4 hours lecture/discussion. Fulfills BE Area C4 or D4. Prerequisites: Completion of GE Area A and Sub-areas C2, C3, D2, and D3.Blackboard:The instructor will make all class information available through Blackboard. You are responsible for checking Blackboard regularly.Communicating with the Instructor:When emailing the instructor, please use complete sentences (do not email in texting format).
