RECRUITMENT AND SELECTION PROCESS 3 Abstract In our today business world, employees in any organization play various roles in ensuring it remains competitive in the market while also continues fulfilling its targeted goals. Thus, it is essential for any organization to have a comprehensive selection and recruitment process, to ensure that the organization hires the best candidate capable of getting the organization on the next level. There exist numerous different aspects that are necessary and essential to consider in the course of selection and recruitment process. This article discusses the process of selecting and hiring candidates. The duties and responsibilities of selection and recruitment solely lie on the Human Resources (HR) department. Even though, in many organizations, it is common for the functional departments to be included in the process of hiring; to ensure that technical considerations are evaluated in the course of selection and recruitment. In addition, organizations also face the choice between recruiting internally or externally whereas there are positive and negative aspects of both approaches. The process also has to follow some legal considerations that are associated with selection and recruitment. Thus, the article outlines; a logical assessment of the finest practice process that should be followed in recruitment and selection on a life cycle foundation, initially starting with job skills analysis and finally ending up with the final selection process that would successfully enable the organization to hire the best candidates for their posts. Introduction Recruitment and selection practice is a process mostly applied by many organizations to recruit employees, and it applies various techniques in order to get a large number of candidates.
