Sugar act 1764 taxes on sugar because they need it for rum Stamp act 1765 Almost all printed but all legal printed material Patrick Henry of virgina 1768 gives a speech against the stamp act. It is reprinted in all the news papers "Anyone who defends parlimanets right to tax virginia is an enemy to his majesty's colony" - Henry 1768 Henry only wanted taxation from the Assemblies of the colonies and the representatives the colonists choose. In Boston they make a demonstration where they make a strawman of a police and they stamp over him
