Michael Webb Dr. Bocketti RR 11 October 2017 RR Dr. P. Gaskell, Michael Sadler, and Anthony Ashley Cooper brought to light the harsh and cruel labor life of working in the factories during the revolution. Cooper was the future 7th governor of Shaftesbury which leads me to believe his intentions were to expose the negative conditions and bring about change to the labor for the good of the people. They brought in and interviewed workers who went through these horrible conditions for years, and questioned them about life in factories. Many workers worked from 6 am to 8 pm, from dusk to dawn. Often people lived a couple miles away from where they had worked, and if they arrived late they were often beat or were forced to take a pay cut for however much they missed. Many did not get a chance to eat breakfast or let alone dinner, as many would fall asleep before supper was finished. They got 40 minutes to an hour for lunch, if their bosses didn't decide to take their food and feed it to the pigs for the lack of work. Life was cruel in the factories but it was shadowed and swept
