Physics 101 Lab 01 Error Analysis Section 1 Abstract The purpose of the experiment was to learn how to calculate the uncertainty and possible errors in our recorded values and the then doing calculations on those values. To learn, practically, We performed two experiments. In the first one, multiple values of length and width of a table were recorded and their mean value was used to calculate the area of the table. The values of standard errors were calculated for each of the required measurements by using formulas. In the second experiment, value of g (gravitational constant) was determined using a simple pendulum and the value of its uncertainty was calculated similarly. Equipment used was as follows Experiment A: Metre Rule Experiment B: String Bob Metre Rule Stopwatch Retort Stand with Boss Head

Section 2 Theory Experiment A – Determine Error in Area and Perimeter of a Table We start by measuring the length (l) and width (w) of the table. We take multiple readings by measuring at different points. It is made sure that the measuring tape is

What students are saying

• As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

Kiran Temple University Fox School of Business ‘17, Course Hero Intern

• I cannot even describe how much Course Hero helped me this summer. It’s truly become something I can always rely on and help me. In the end, I was not only able to survive summer classes, but I was able to thrive thanks to Course Hero.

Dana University of Pennsylvania ‘17, Course Hero Intern

• The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
