Premotor Cortex: planning area - As signal of mvmt going down, there is sensory info coming up. On the fly, start manipulate o Constantly updates motor plan as mvmt initiated - Associative areas of cortex affect primary areas of cortex. Loops, in the end boils down to activating alpha motor neurons in sc or bs o Strategy = higher order association areas cortex, basal ganglia o Tactics = motor cortex, cerebellum o Execution = brainstem, cerebellum, sc - If you want to figure out role of structure, destroy it…ablation o Limitation = redundancy because two areas might have the same function/share function - Lateral pathways = distal - Ventromedial Pathways = hips, torso, etc - Motor system org with cortex at top of everything, spinal cord at bottom. o Parallel pathways descend from cortex to spinal cord, in some cases passing through brainstem str o Basal ganglia loop and cerebellum loop = feedback - Corticospinal tract, and two other descending spinal tracts (two groups lateral & ventromedial) Corticospinal Tract - Distal muscles - Part of lateral pathway - Voluntary movements. - Down through cortex, internal capsule, basal ganglia, cerebral peduncle, decussate in lower medulla Ventromedial Tract -

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

I cannot even describe how much Course Hero helped me this summer. It’s truly become something I can always rely on and help me. In the end, I was not only able to survive summer classes, but I was able to thrive thanks to Course Hero.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
