Interview summary •My interviewee provided me with some great insight about this field as well as a typical day for her and the children.•Listening to her closely one key element I gathered from our interview was that not everyone is meant to be a professional in this field•Teachers are required to attend professional development courses prior to the new school year starting as well as a couple online courses during the school year.•The only thing she mentions she would change is that her career in early childhood education would be that she wishes she had more of the creative side of her.•Having worked in the field since 2000 as a kindergarten field at strawberry hills head start and early head start for two and half years. She says, “the most she liked about her job would be to see the children smile every day as they learn something new”.
Interview Impact•I discovered that a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education is a requirement to be considered for a teacher’s position in the public-school system. •Teachers are required to attend professional development courses before the new school year starting as well as a couple of online classes during the school year.
one key issue•One of the most popular trends within the early childhood education spectrum is the importance of education equality.•Before programs like Head Start were created, the significance of early education was not fully recognized. •Most people weren’t aware of exactly how important it was for young children to prepare for school.
Instructional Approach•There is a lot of controversy over whether technology should be incorporated into the early childhood classroom or not, but I believe it could be a learning tool when used in control and is watched by the teacher or teaching assistant. •Instructional approach/model that best matches your personal educational philosophy and how you believe that approach contributes to quality programming for young children is creative Curriculum and Direct Instruction .•I believe by incorporating the creative curriculum and direct instruction, that it provides students with teacher based instruction while allowing students to are allowed to participate at center, that which students would engage in learning activities involving play and also by letting the choose which activity they want to engage in from time to time allows for learner directed activity learning.
