Your hip is the largest joint in the human body.The artificial hip has changed over the years as far as what material it takes to make them butthey were made to try and relieve pain and miprove leg movement from all of the damage it hadtaken over the years. the earliest aartificial hips we constructed almost one hundred years agoand we made of glass. Most of them broke within a few months as the hips are were the bodybears the most weight. Other materials like ivory, pyrex, and plastics were tried later butdiscarded. As the prosthetic design evolved they began to use chrome and titanium alloy as itwas stronger to use with ceramicor cobalt-chrome alloy heads.
