Keegan’s Dilemma After discovering this issue if Keegan were a utilitarian, he would immediately quit his job with Devious Inc. because it violates the moral codes of a utilitarian. Utilitarianism believes that “right and wrong depends on the consequences of one’s actions for everyone who might be affected by them” indicating that if he stays with Devious Inc. and continues making weapon systems than he would actually be doing more harm to other people who would be affected by the weapon systems. Jeremy Bentham believed that you should take the action that has lesser harm to the public society. For example, if Keegan quits his job his wife may have to go back to work and he may have to settle for a lower wage job but it has more benefits than contributing to possible deaths of civilians all over the world. Keegan’s decision of quitting his job with Devious Inc. would be the right action that would create the greatest balance of happiness and pleasure for the society because he
