KIN394 F17 Guest Speaker Reflection The lectures of Applying Concepts in Kinesiology to Real-World Health Challenges have been different than any other class in the curriculum. Throughout the semester, most of the lecture periods have consisted of listening to guest speakers. These speakers come from different paths in the realm of kinesiology, each with their own experiences and level of expertise in what they do. I found this variety in field and expertise especially helpful in reflecting upon the options available upon graduating with a Bachelors degree in kinesiology. Dr. Peirre Rouzier prepared a power point presentation highlighting his rich life experiences such as his 4100+ mile bike ride and the book he wrote called Henry Gets Moving . He also talked about the epidemic of obesity in America and his family’s involvement in sports. He was extremely motivating even though most of his presentation did not include the day-to-day of being a doctor. This was helpful because as we work our way through the program, we become so focused on which graduate schools best
