Summary In this experiment, the main objective was to break the concrete cylinders and beams we had previously molded weeks earlier. In order for concrete to become fully cured, it takes 28 days to ensure that it is fully cured. Specifically, in this experiment, the concrete cylinders were compressed while the concrete beams were flexed until fracture, called a flexure test. From these tests, we were told to record and tabulate the load and deflection increase until fracture for each of the test. From those results, we were able to use them to calculate required data. Two specimens were tested in each test, each of those varying in weight and length. Finally, we were
