The scholar that I gravitated more towards was Gordon Wood, simple because I see eye to eye with him on the American Revolution being the most important event in American history. In addition, the revolution was definitely a watershed moment that completely transformed American society. This is evident in political, and social aspects of American society. The American revolution took place mainly because of the political restrictions that the British government imposed on Americans. A prime example, taxation without representation. From the revolution a more centralized and efficient government was achieved. It was through the revolution the ratification of the confederation, checks and balances, delegation of power through written constitution and liberty was born. In addition individuals rights and equalities .."Overall the American Revolution incited these great political revelations, and gave the founder concepts included in the constitution that they would not have become aware of otherwise" (teenink).
