Zachary Henderson New Leisure Experience #2 October 18, 2007 When I was in high-school one of my favorite leisure activities was to spend a day with friends on the sands of Carolina Beach, North Carolina. We would take our four-wheel-drive vehicles a mile or so down the beach and spend the day surfing and enjoying ourselves, sometimes bringing camping equipment and staying the night in the rough. We were always in the vicinity of various other leisure-seekers occupying their free time in similar ways. The most common being the myriad fisherman with their trucks backed up to the shore, rods and reels cast into the waves, enjoying themselves as the tide washed away their worries. When fall break rolled around I had only one plan on my agenda: relaxation. I desperately needed to unwind after a stressful few weeks. I decided I was going to revisit Carolina Beach, however this time for a different purpose. My motivation was not to party and socialize with friends—but to spend time with myself, relax, and finally go
