PORNOGRAPHY ADDICTION2AbstractThe determination of this topic of interest paper is to examine pornography addiction, andhow it has intensified through the use of the internet. Pornography addiction has a low risk of being discovered, and can be easily accessed with the touch of a finger. According to Carnes privacy is a huge factor of why internet pornography turns out to be extremely addictive. Pornography addiction in marriages, and churches will also be explored during the progression of this paper. It can be understood that the internet plays a major role in the addiction to pornography, which makes the cycle of sexual addiction hard to break. However, there is always hope for the one who wants to be free from pornography addiction.

(Thauvette, 2012). Pornography addiction through the use of the internet has become a growing epidemic throughout the world. There are many people who are consumed by this addiction, and in this paper we will focus on the why the internet is the most chosen outlet for pornography. How the use of internet pornography affects pastors in the church, and husbands and wives will also be discussed as this paper evolves. Lastly, the hope of recovery and sobriety can be achieved for theaddict that seeks freedom from the addiction.Internet PornographySexual addiction must first be explained in order to understand why pornography throughthe internet becomes so addictive. Sexual addiction is a chronic disorder characterized by repeated sexual impulses, feelings, and conducts that cause significant distress and continue regardless of harmful disadvantages, including damage to personal and professional functions, and even physical well-being in some cases. (Short, Wetterneck, Bistricky, Shutter, & Chase, 2016). The addiction to internet pornography increases the cycle of sexual addiction so that the individual finds it harder to even think about seeking help. According to Carnes (2001) secrecy and negation are two factors that make internet pornography addictive. An individual can expresstheir wildest sexual fantasies by using internet porn without anyone knowing who they are. The risk of another person finding out that someone is using internet porn is very low because it can be used privately just about anywhere. (Carnes, 2001). The fact that internet porn is not real makes it easier for the addict to ignore what their conscious is possibly saying. Internet porn
