The ear has three main parts that are broken down into many components; the inner ear, the middle ear and the outer ear.The auditory tube also known as the Eustachian tube links the middle ear to nasopharynx and its main function is equalizing the atmospheric pressure. The incus is another bone of the middle ear. The function is to transfer sound waves across tympanic cavity to the inner ear, which does the same as the malleus. The malleus is a small bone shaped like a hammer. The stapes is the last bone of the middle ear and it articulates laterally with the incus.
