Susan Okin- gender and family, -gender roles make women dependent, reinforces the domination of men within marriage . Pigman- Nancy Polikof ( straight and gay marriage)- couples should have the choice to marry based o spiritual, cultural, religious meaning of marriage. Advocates for solutions to the needs all families have for economic well-beingc, emotional peace of mind, respect. Value all families… civil partnership. Carole Pateman ( the sexual contract)- wives do more work after hours, and not getting paid. Contracts= relationships of subordination, civil sub. In contracts shown as freedom. Robin West (marriage, sexuality, gender)- women work “second-shifts”!! Men don’t have to, it is unfair, women do most of the work and get paid way less, and nothing for housework. Must end second shift Hernandez v Robles - considers that gay couples will have a more stable environment for children so helping couples who are of opposite sex will be needed more because they are more likely to have an accident leading to an unstable environment for the child, also it is better for children to grow up with both a mother and a father. strict scrutiny should be used to argue their right to marriage. Domestic relations law's limitation of marriage to opposite sex couples is not unconstitutional. Kerrigan v. commissioner of public health (2008): excluding same sex couples from marriage the state declares a difference between their commitment and heterosexual commitments. Same sex marriage is not the same as "real" marriage because of their marriage Varnum v. Brien, 2009

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
