R. Antonio Granillo Professor Clarke THEA 130 29 October 2016 An Actor’s Work , Chapter 6: “Muscular Release” “…muscular tension impedes our thinking, and the process of experiencing even more [.]” o Muscular release must be consistent both on and off the stage; the actor cannot be his most successful if he challenges physical tension throughout his life. Locate isolated points of tension in your body, and release to achieve total muscular release o This exercise is best performed on a flat surface, so the environment has limited influence over the actor’s tension Discover the center of one’s gravity and how the law of equilibrium comes into play. Necessary constriction is contingent upon the actor’s task at hand. o It is difficult for an actor to consciously and genuinely constrict muscles; instead, the actor relies on instinctual constriction during an action under a task.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
