ETHICALEthical Decision Making“Ethical dilemmas occur when a situation requires one to choose among alternatives that create a values conflict amongst stakeholders. By definition, a dilemma is a problem involving a difficult choice among two or more equally conclusive alternatives” (Gonzalez-Padron,2017). In this paper, I will choose a contemporary ethical dilemma at an organization found through research. Using the article, The PLUS ethical decision-making model as a guide, I will create a model for ethical decision-making based on my chosen ethical dilemma. I will then evaluate all seven steps of the ethical decision-making model, analyze how each step can be applied to my chosen dilemma, and evaluate how the model could have mitigated the ethical dilemma at my chosen organization.According to Gonzalez-Padron (2015), “An ethical decision-making model is a resource or tool that facilitates the ethical analysis of an action or a decision in an orderly, systematic manner”. I will apply the PLUS ethical decision-making model as a guide to the dilemma article that I chose which is titled, “Business ethics versus economic incentives: Contemporary issues and dilemmas”. I will then evaluate the article by applying all seven steps involved in the creation of an ethical decision-making model. These steps are used to better identify the struggle businesses have developing a basic set of guidelines. These guidelines are utilized in order to makes it easier for staff on any level, to be assured that their decisions meet standards that are vital to the ethical decision-making implementing within an organization.
