CHFD220 Final paper October 29, 2017 When it comes to any topic relating to healthcare it is a very sensitive one. Everyone in the world should have access to healthcare and also be allowed to choose the type of coverage they desire. When President Obama took office, he passed his version of the affordable care act which had many parts to it. One part that had mixed feelings is that insurance plans needs to include coverage for contraceptives (whitehouse.gov). Even though the president meant to do good by doing this, it still violates the first amendment of the people and also religious beliefs which is against the Religious Belief Freedom Restoration Act (eppc.org). Under this Act any company who does not comply with it will get a $2000 fine every year. Many companies are choosing to avoid this ACT and ultimately close their business, this has a very negative effect on the economy as a whole. Employers and schools should be given the option to include this to their insurance package and if they do participate then they should receive some type of incentive at the end of each year, if they do not want to participate then there should be no punishment in place. Forcing them to do it unwillingly goes against ACTS and Amendments set in place for
