Anatomy & Physiology is the study of how the body works, where the organs are positioned and what their functions are. You learn how the body organ systems work together to keep us alive and to enable us to carry out our daily activities. The knowledge of the structure of the body and how it works underpins all medical care and advice. In other words; health care workers need to know how the body operates when everything is normal to enable them to understand why people get sick when the body is not operating well. To this end, this unit gives you an overview of body functioning that is valuable for anyone working in a field relating to health and social care Task 6 Scenario Participate in a fitness assessment and carry out a practical activity which involves collecting data for heart rate, breathing rate and temperature before and after a standard period of exercise . Instructions for the practical activity Participate in the aerobics activity Work in pairs and measure each other’s body temperature, heart and breathing rates before exercise, immediately after exercise, five minutes after exercise and 10 minutes after exercise.
