Assignment 6.3 Clean Water Act
The pharmaceutical manufacturing industry is an industry that process and manufactures
pharmaceutical drugs or products. The process of manufacturing drugs consists of milling,
granulation, tablet pressing, and coating. Some of the processes use hazardous chemicals and the
facilities often produce wastes products. That is why, as an Environmental and Safety Director, I
am responsible for assuring that our facility has a proper waste disposal system. Aside from that,
I must follow the Clean Water Act (CWA) law because our wastes products might danger the life
of the humans and it can affect the quality of the water in a certain area or in the whole country,
(United States Environmental Protection Agency).
As an Environmental and Safety Director of a pharmaceutical facility, the factors I need
to consider are having a proper waste management system and protect the health of the
environment and humans. Aside from that, I should also consider the two main hazardous
