Over the past years, Samsung Electronics has made its mark in many households all over the
world. Samsung is known for their sleek technology and stylish appliances and their edge curve
cell phones to HDTV flat screen TV’s with HD pictures. When looking at the PLC (product life
cycle) we have to consider the many stages that it has to cover within a business. Company’s
uses PLC stage for introduction, growth, and product ending. “ The product life cycle of a
smartphone is not just about physical attributes; it is heavily impacted by software in order to
ensure security, reliability and continuity. So, when deploying smartphones, enterprise mobility
managers should think about not only protecting the device itself, but also whether it will
continue to be supported by the manufacturer with ongoing firmware and security updates. ”
[Dav17] There are four main stages that must be considered: Introduction, Growth, Maturity, and
Decline.

Introduction Stage:
“ Any business that is launching a new product needs to appreciate that this initial stage
could require significant investment. Any investment in research and new product development
has to be weighed up against the likely return from the new product, and an effective marketing
plan will need to be developed, in order to give the new product the best chance of achieving this
return.” [Pos17]
