James King Phy1 W/Lab NOV17 Mr. Robert Hill The purpose of this lab report is to study acceleration due to gravity by using a pendulum. This lab also studies the changes that occur when use a different mass on the pendulum and changes that occur when we construct a longer pendulum. This lab was performed by creating a pendulum from a piece of string that was 100 cm long and tying the string around a small plastic bag containing weights that weighed approximately 25 grams. The string was then tied to a towel bar in a bathroom and a protractor was taped to the wall behind the string with the string directly over the hole located in the center of the protractor. Near the floor a tape measure was taped to the wall spanning the width of the towel bar. Directly behind where the 25g weights in the plastic bag, or bob, was the 50cm mark of the tape measure. After ensuring everything was correct, I then began a series of three trials to measure the time it took for the bob to swing back and forth 5 times from different release points. These different release points began at 5° all the way to 30°. Once the times were found

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
