LAW 556 (Formerly MBA 556) Legal Issues in Management Credit Hours: 3 This course is a comprehensive overview of the legal environment of business. Students learn the basics of American and international law. Topics explored include: the legal environment and ethics, courts and alternative dispute resolution, constitutional law, torts, criminal law, intellectual property, internet law, contracts, sales, creditor-debtor relations, bankruptcy, business organizations, consumer law and property, agency, employment and labor law, consumer protection and investor protection and corporate governance. We will be using MIND TAP from the publisher, Cengage, and the access code for it will be included with the purchase of a new text. The access code can be purchased separately. There will be exercises and graded assignments using MIND TAP. In addition, there are many practice assignments, videos and the like that students find very helpful in learning the materials. While the course is online, the final exam, EXAM 3, will be on ground in a classroom in Troy. I would not purchase the Study Guide…it is dated and you will find lots of practice study material in MIND TAP. You may wish to review it to make your own decision. PREREQUISITES: None

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
