Informative Speech Outline: Diabetes Specific Purpose: To inform my audience of three types of diabetes, the way to determine whether you have diabetes, pre-diabetes or neither, and the effective way to control diabetes. Central Idea: We can possibly stop this disease from growing so rapidly by understanding what diabetes is and finding out if we could be at risk Pattern of Organization: Topical I. Attention: If you know some one has diabetes, please raise your hand. Most of the people in this room know someone has diabetes. According to 2011 National Diabetes Fact Sheet released by the center of Disease Control (CDC), there 25.8 million people are affected by diabetes – which is 8.3% of the U.S. population. II. Reveal Topic : Since the highly increase of diabetes. We should get more informed, more inspired, and more connected to diabetes. III.
