Ellen Shook FTM 387 (001) Advertising and Society HW 1. I do not believe that Green Works was a sincere attempt to impact the environment. If Clorox truly cared about changing the environment they should have made an extensive effort to change every product that they sell to be more environmentally friendly. As a consumer, it just looks like they cared about capitalizing upon a trend. Although, through my research it seems that Green Works holds about 40% of the green household products market share, I don’t recall seeing it as a consumer. I am a loyal consumer of the Mrs. Meyer’s products and some Seventh Generation and I don’t even remember seeing it on the shelf. I think that because Green Works isn’t 100 percent natural and because of the association with the Clorox brand it is unable to be sold in places like Whole Foods of Earth Fare, where most all-natural- passionate consumers are located and frequently shopping.
