SOUTHWEST TEXAS JUNIOR COLLEGE ASSOCIATE OF APPLIED SCIENCE IN NURSING RNSG 1161 Clinical I CONCEPT-BASED CLINICAL ACTIVITY: Tissue Integrity (Inflammation) Patient selection for this activity will be directed by your clinical faculty during the pre- conference. LEVEL I Identification of specific data related to the concept of tissue integrity (inflammation) obtained from the patient record (admission assessment, physician history & physical). Information obtained in the patient record will be linked to classroom and textbook resources. 1. Understand the components of the bio-physical concept of tissue integrity and the mechanisms of inflammation for the patient you are assigned. Tissue Integrity is the ability of body tissues to regenerate and/or repair to maintain normal physiological processes . 2. Recognize the relationship between tissue integrity and inflammation process with the patient’s medical diagnose. Inflammation is one of the phases required for tissue to be able to be repaired. 3. What are the antecedents which contribute to the problem related to the pathophysiological concept of inflammation and the admission diagnosis? i.e., cardiovascular, respiratory, poor nutrition, trauma, decrease activity, previous health problems, surgeries, bedbound. The Patient did not present any tissue integrity problem, but in case it was presented on the future, it might be caused by bedbound .
