COMPUTER SCIENCE 2 Database Backup Database backup involves several processes involved in backing up the state of operation, stored data and architecture of database software. It is simply the technological advancement involved in protection and restoration of the database. It creates duplications or rather copies of the database to combat primary database crashes to avoid losing relevant data. Database administrators are thus in a position to restore the particular database to its operational state without affecting its data and logs using backup servers. Database backup assures a user safety of their data in time for technical and mechanical error which could mean data loss. Database backup remains to be a crucial component in an organization concerning its compliance with government and enterprise regulation as it ensures efficient access to important business data should a disaster or technical outrage impinge organizations operations, (Munoz, 2013). The enhancement in database size increases the time to backup as well as an increment in space required for storing data. Computer users can thus consider local backups or use internet backup procedures in storing their data depending on the size and urgency. Local backups involve storage of data in diskettes. For instance, a person can access his files even when there are hard disk crashes during operation as data is saved during operations. A zip drive is also a local method of data backup which depends on the size of data to be stored. Database backup could also be done using removable drives in which data is backed up to. Internet database backup, on the other hand, is an advanced way of storing and retrieval of data by safeguarding it in other sites. This allows the user to download their corresponding data from the site and continue using it. Companies dealing with various data prefer online database backup service by connecting to the internet. Online database backup has been credited

COMPUTER SCIENCE 3 as the most effective method to store data especially if the users are many. Online data backups are at times automated hence more secure than local methods of backing up data since breakdown are abrupt.MS SQL, for instance, is in a position to the backup database; this method is also faster and reliable at times of restoration.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
