PERSONAL STATEMENT 2 Since the moment I met Mr. Kim in my medical work, I got my personal medical skills improved. I noticed that Kim’s last and only medical visit was in September 2006, approximately nine years ago. Kim was medically diagnosed with early glaucoma in his right eye whose effects resulted from delayed medical indulgence. Upon checking his vision and discovering that he was going blind, we all got shocked about it. However, I had apprehension for his condition as he had not followed up for a long time. Kim was advised to start immediate medication to lower his intraocular pressure. Unfortunately, it came to my attention that Kim was an illegal immigrant, financially unstable and lacked a medical insurance cover. On realizing that Kim needed a lot of interrogation, I used professional interaction skills to get more information about his medical history to be able to effectively navigate his medical progress. Kim’s previously worked as a truck driver. He was at the dawn of blindness. Kim’s condition was worsened by the fact that he neither had a work visa nor a supportive family since the family depended on him. Unfortunately, Kim wanted to know whether his eye "can be fixed." This submerged me to diverse and contradictory answers. At first, I thought of saying "No," to the truth. Then I mention my fascination with science & engineering background that allowed me to know what had gone wrong, develop a desire to research diseases like glaucoma, and eventually find a cure. Thus, telling him the truth could not help as I was afraid that he'll be devastated. The second option was to tell him "Yes," which would be a comforting lie. Then I remember helping a student who needed moral support in order to pursue his dream. But I also realized that telling Mr. Kim the truth won't help, because he will hear it eventually from Dr.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
