Zack Wilson Promise and Reality of American Democracy: Theory and Practice There are many aspects that help facilitate Democracy, but the biggest aspect of Democracy as a whole is the American people and their political culture. In chapter one it talks about the “theories of power”, which is majoritarianism, pluralism, elitism, and bureaucratic rule. These are the things that people believe help facilitate democracy. All four of the theories of power have their different beliefs, but no matter which one is really in use it will make it easier to run a democracy. You cannot just have a random way of running a government; you need to have a base of how to do things. The American political culture has everything to do with what helps facilitate democracy.
